Wormistoune is BWG’s HQ near St Andrews. This castle, and award winning gardens, have elements dating back to the sixteenth century and it has been lovingly restored over quarter of a century by the McCallum’s into a wonderful and luxurious home.

Only available a handful of times annually, there is a wealth of heritage behind the detailing and every item of furniture and artwork. Contemporary features include a games room with billiard table, a cinema and helicopter landing pad.

Stewart Christie & Co has supplied generations of Scotland’s aristocracy since 1720.

Now at the cutting edge of the country’s emerging fashion scene, their collaboration with another BWG favourite, Araminta Campbell (the celebrated designer of truly unique, contemporary Scottish textiles) affords you the opportunity to design your own fabrics - even perhaps your own bespoke family tartan.

Mingary Castle is a thirteenth century castle on the west coast of Scotland.

On the Ardnamurchan peninsula with 360-degree views of the Atlantic Ocean, islands, and landscape, Mingary is recognised as one of the best places to stay in the UK (The Times 2022) with a critically acclaimed service and chef. This fortress will be exclusively hired for the duration of your BWG adventure.

Before being reinvented as unique 5-star accommodation, The Fingal toured Scotland’s lighthouses to ensure they all were in working order, and to provision the brave souls who operated them.

Each of the rooms and suites are named after the lighthouses the boat once served. The detailing is nothing less than exquisite and it is still possible to see the old engine room in the depths of the boat.

Links House Dornoch is the ultimate Highland retreat, the perfect northerly destination to explore the Highlands. A short wedge from the 1st tee at Royal Dornoch GC (often rated in the top 10 in World rankings), Links is known for it’s luxury accommodation, excellent service, and Mara restaurant.

Situated within Dornoch, there is the opportunity to explore the town on foot, visit Campbell of Beauly on the High Street (and purchase the very same wool sweater bought by HRH Princess of Wales), or collect a unique piece of pottery or tartan rug from Anta based in the nearby village of Fearn.

bravo-whisky-golf-grand-golfing-tour-of-scotland-lagavulin-exterior-banner.jpg

One of the oldest distilleries on Islay, Lagavulin is world-renowned for its smoky, peaty whiskies. On your visit you will be joined by resident warehouseman and Lagavulin legend, Iain McArthur, for a fantastic cask-tasting session.

The Ardnamurchan - The Great Gorbals Whisky Flood of 1906 put paid to the original distillery, when one of the colossal washback vats collapsed, engulfing both the works and the neighbouring street in a 150-thousand-gallon torrent of hot whisky. Today, a cask is made available for purchase by special arrangement; an incentive for guests to return year after year to this remote and beautiful place, and keep a watchful eye on their investment.

The Bowmore - Expect sweet, smoky, rare (and rarified) Scotch that is a fitting introduction to the subtleties of peat which signify whisky from Islay. The Bowmore has also produced a limited-edition Aston Martin series of malts, and guests can reap the benefits of this strategic partnership by accessing an Aston Martin or two for an exhilarating carriage around the island.

The Glenturret - Owns the distinction of being Scotland’s oldest working distillery. Dating back to 1763, it has been visited through the centuries by writers and poets - including our nation’s favourite son, Robert Burns. A visit to Glenturret would not be complete without lunch at the Lalique restaurant. Under the leadership of Head Chef Mark Donald (a veteran of acclaimed Noma in Copenhagen) Lalique at Glenturret has been awarded a richly-deserved Michelin star.

Golfing

  • The Golf House Club - Elie & Crail Balcomie Links - Sidestepping the masses which regularly descend upon St Andrews, BWG whisks guests to courses in the East Neuk of Fife, a region steeped in history and an abundance of breathtaking scenery. BWG rates them not merely highly, but perhaps even superior to their marquee name neighbours.

  • The Machrie links - Originally designed by Willie Campbell in 1891, it is situated on the wild western flank of Scotland on Islay. Recently remodelled, the links offer magnificent views over Machair Bay and the quintessential definition of ‘hold onto your hat’s’ golf with Atlantic winds blowing in from the sea.

  • Royal Dornoch GC - Needs no introduction, both for its global reputation and for featuring highly in the rankings. The Old Tom Morris design honours the integrity of its legacy, presenting plateau greens and a classic out-and-back configuration. The views over the Dornoch Firth on the back nine holes, which hug the coastline, are nothing short of magnificent.

  • The Cabot Highlands - (previously Castle Stuart) boasts an imposing Art Deco-style clubhouse and is beautifully nestled into a dramatic landscape with views over the Moray Firth and Black Isle. With wild waste bunkers and an unquestionably intricate layout, each hole proves to be both formidable and never to be forgotten.

  • North Berwick GC - The West Links is a must for the golfing aficionado. Its ancient layout is absolutely joyous. Golfers ingeniously start in the heart of the town, where the 1st green presents an exceptional panorama, playing through the bustling streets of the old town, past the harbour, to the North Berwick law (rising more than 600 feet above sea level), culminating in the heart-stirring view of the islands and coastline of the Firth of Forth. Golf simply does not get more spot-on — or more exhilarating.

Flexible and accommodating, BWG will design this expedition taking into account the individual interests of each family member. For the younger members of the clan, that could be viewing the Harry Potter train crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct live from a helicopter, or being taught to fish or improve their golf swing with an expert. For the active and adventurous, it might be climbing a Munro, mountain biking, or stalking, and for the senior members of the clan, it might simply be enjoying a rare malt in a room steeped in history with a roaring fire and good book to accompany. All the clan can enjoy and savour the delights of Scotland.
