Royal Scotsman

On this most regal of journeys, you will arrive in Edinburgh for a private tour of The Royal Yacht Britannia so fondly held by the late Queen, then after an evening on board a floating 5-star hotel, we charter the Royal Scotsman luxury train and take it on a 2-day odyssey exploring the very best of Scotland.

All Bravo Whisky Golf adventures involve chartered aircraft except this one. A gentle adventure, it’s devised for an extended family or a larger mixed party of 16 -24 golfers and non-golfers for a special occasion or gathering. If a smaller group wishes to travel and guests' interests coalesce, we would consider merging groups into one harmonious party.

Royal Scotsman is at its core a rolling 5-star hotel with magnificent service and exquisite cuisine. There will be opportunities for guests to indulge their passion whether that be golf, outdoor pursuits, whisky, or arts and culture.

Highlights Include a private tour of Royal Yacht Britannia

  • Take the Royal Scot launch boat to Fingal, Scotland’s only 5-star floating hotel.

  • Enjoy dinner and entertainment onboard Fingal before retiring to your cabin.

  • Pre-boarding drinks at The Balmoral Hotel before being piped onto the Royal Scotsman train.

  • Golf at Gleneagles, non-golfers activities include horse riding, gun dog demonstration, spa, shopping, off-road driving and falconry.

  • Visit a famous old whisky distillery for a VIP tour and tasting.

  • Dinner in the Raven and Swift dining cars onboard the Royal Scotsman.

  • Traditional Scottish entertainment in the Observation Car.

  • Spend a night in a remote Scottish glen under the stars.

  • Visit the V&A Design Museum and HMS Discovery for a VIP tour.

  • Golf in St Andrews; non-golfers enjoy heritage, history and gardens in St Andrews

Accommodation

Stay onboard Fingal, a floating 5-star hotel based permanently on Edinburgh’s vibrant waterfront. A hotel with all the glamour and style of a superyacht but with an old world elegance that is completely unique.

The cabins on board Belmond Royal Scotsman are Edwardian in style, fitted with mahogany marquetry, providing a cosy yet opulent haven in which to retire. All private cabins are equipped with an en suite shower room, a wardrobe, a desk and a picture window from which to savour the unfolding Scottish countryside.

Gleneagles has set the standard for Scottish hospitality for decades.

The Andrew Fairlie restaurant in the depths of the hotel is excellent, with two Michelin stars, but our favourite spot away from the spa and activities is a small corner in The American Bar, just for adults where you can have a toast with friends and admire the glorious surroundings.

The V&A Design Museum was designed by award-winning Japanese architect Kengo Kuma & Associates following an international competition.

Kuma’s vision is that it is a welcoming space for everyone to visit and socialise in -’a living room for the City’. The V&A with its curved concrete walls has been a catalyst in the transformation of the waterfront at Dundee. The building is worth a visit in its own right and the exhibitions are always intriguing and thought provoking.

Bravo Whisky Golf has more than a passing interest in The Royal Yacht Britannia and Fingal.

Neil’s wife works onboard as an event manager and will testify to the dedication of the team who provide a wonderful service. Fingal’s transformation from a lighthouse maintenance vessel to a luxury hotel is nothing short of miraculous. It’s up there with the finest hotels in Edinburgh and is certainly the most interesting.
