Punta Mita, Mexico

We hope you don’t mind us reminiscing about a wonderful journey the Bravo Whisky Golf team took in February 2020 (just before COVID 19 lockdown) to Punta Mita in Mexico. Oh, how it feels decades ago now, but as things slowly return to the “new normal”, hopefully we will all be able to travel freely again, exploring new destinations and cultures. We are especially looking forward to welcoming personally each and every one of our guests in 2021.

With a minimum of arm twisting from our great friend PPG’s Derek Oakey (just one brief phone call) and to escape the vagaries of the Scottish winter weather, we travelled with our kilts, clubs, and a few excellent bottles of Bruichladdich Malt Whisky, to the warmth of Punta Mita on the West Coast of Mexico to participate and be lead sponsor at PPG’s flagship annual pro-am.

Highlights for us included a tutored Islay Malt whisky tasting we hosted at a beach front bar, meeting and making many new friends and Paul taking home the prestigious PPG trophy as part of the winning team.

In particular thanks to Derek at PPG for the invitation, dedication, warmth, and incredible attention to detail, all the pro’s for their patience and skill, Carl Emberton who manages the Punta Mita Estate and the St Regis Hotel for unparalleled service and hospitality in the most spectacular location.
