Clara Young Appointed- Senior Flight Plan Host

Underneath the mild mannered, helpful, and kind exterior of Clara Young lies a fierce competitor and intellect.

Clara is a North Berwick “local” and like founding directors Neil and Paul, she is a Member of North Berwick Golf Club. Having grown up on the links Clara is from a golfing dynasty: her brother, a former Club Champion, Scott, works in the Pro Shop, and her mother Dawn is a recent Ladies Club Champion.

Mentored by Former Open Champion and current Solheim Cup Captain Catriona Matthew (who also lives in the Town), Clara has had a stellar amateur golfing record winning the Ladies Scottish Amateur Championship in 2015 and representing Scotland in European Championships half a dozen times and Great Britain and Ireland in 2011.

In 2014 Clara traveled to the United States to take up a place in the University of Missouri, Columbia where she was a Division 1 athlete representing the Woman’s Golf team whilst at the same time obtaining a Masters in Accountancy as well as a Batchelor of Science and Accountancy in 2018.

Whilst the world is in a hiatus Clara has been working on her golf (playing the occasional bounce game with Neil and Paul off a plus 3 handicap) and when the world is ready she will recommence her ambition to move into the professional ranks.
